Knocking from Vauxhall Omega front wheel?

A sound seems to have appered from the front drivers side wheel area on my Omega. It only ';knocks'; when going over rough ground areas. Could this be the bearings or CV joint and can anyone advise on how to change these ??? THANKSKnocking from Vauxhall Omega front wheel?
I would say examine the lower arm ball joint and bush, tie rod end ball joint and bush and the damper (shock absorber). My gut instinct if I started getting this in my vehicle would be lower arm ball joint or bush. These items are usually inspectable with the wheel off and the car jacked up. The Omega is a heavy vehicle so a worn balljoint would not be unexpected however Vauxhall/ Opel garage would replace the whole lower arm if this was the case. It is possible to replace just the ball joint though.

CV joint test is clicking or if bad knocking from the wheel when on full lock- usually worse on full lock driving backwards, but it does not sound like classic CV joint problem. Bearings would make noise most of the time regardless of rough ground or not.Knocking from Vauxhall Omega front wheel?
Sounds like the strut. You would need a compression tool to fix this.
