Heater/cooling fan on car makes screaming noise. how do i change it?

Ok, I own a pontiac grand prix (1999) the fan that provides heating and cooling starts screaming at me randomly. It sounds terrible and then the heat will stop coming. I turn it off and then back on and it works fine for a few minutes. It's the fan right? Bearings are bad or something. Anyone know how much for a new one? I will check autozone or something. How hard would it be to change? Anyone know of a website that would provide a ';how to'; to change it?
