How easy is it to fix the two front wheel bearings OR how much would it cost to get it done at a garage?

Car is a 1998 VW Polo. Front wheels bearings have gone on both wheels and need to be replaced. I think it's gonna cost roughly 拢40 for the bearings. Wondering roughly how easy it is to change (using a Haynes) or whether it'd be more cost effective to get it done at a garage? Anyone know if 拢40 for the parts is realistic or how much I'd be looking at paying at a garage? Cheers guysHow easy is it to fix the two front wheel bearings OR how much would it cost to get it done at a garage?
it will cost you an arm and a leg to take it to a garage. it isn't hard to do by yourself. mainly involves removing the wheel and brake components. How easy is it to fix the two front wheel bearings OR how much would it cost to get it done at a garage?
ok now for the correct answer the front hubs must be removed . lower ball joint front strut mounting to the hub drive shaft nut caliper and disc then you will have to chisel out the bearing or press it out then press the new one in a good garage should do it in 2 hours both sides
Never worked on that particular vehicle but an old rule of thumb...

If bearing is cheap $20-$40, it will be hard to install. They usually require a press. If bearing is expensive $90 and up, It will probably be easy to replace. Most of those are bolted in. There are exceptions to every old rule though.
You really need a press to press bearing races back into the hub.You can punch them in but you risk damaging them then your back at square one
