How to make my longboard [skateboard] go faster?

okay, im new to longboarding and i would like to know without actually changing any parts and buying new parts for my board, what are some ways to set it up to make it go faster?

ex..have your bearings tightened/loosened a certain amount or /loosen or tighten trucks

anything helps seeing how new I am to the sport so i appreciate your advice -I really have no idea what i should be doingHow to make my longboard [skateboard] go faster?
Spray your bearings with grease or oil, you don't have to take anything apart, just don't use WD-40, because it sucks. This makes your bearings run smother, giving you a faster ride. Also, if your wheels are screwed down really tight you your trucks, that slows you down, try loosening it but not to much because when you're riding you might lose a wheel because the vibration of your board while riding down can shake your screw off.How to make my longboard [skateboard] go faster?
you can make a board go faster by reducing friction. this is hard to do without changing out parts. the bearings are obviously very important. Wheels can also affect top speed. But the biggest source of friction comes from the road you're riding on. New, smooth asphalt is MUCH faster than old pitted asphalt. concrete is fastest of all but when it starts to heave and crack it becomes totally unrideable.

One way to pick up alot of speed is to ride hills with an increasing gradient. (hills that get steeper as they go on) Since it takes time to acquire speed, if you're already going really fast you can get to terminal velocity for that gradient much quicker.

when i rode I was more concerned with making my board slower; maybe the hills are bigger where i live. Anyways, be careful; don't hurt yourself.
i would get some Bones speed cream. Or any specially formulated skateboard bearing lube. DOnt usee WD-40, like the person above me said b/c it will eventually attract dust and dirt and slow down ur bearings.

Steps to cleaning bearings.
