help! How do i change the bearings on a ford f150 four wheel drive?
You will need a spindle socket for a four wheel drive. Im sure you have the brake caliper off.

I will guess you have the hub lock out and are looking at the end of the spindle.

Wipe the grease out of the inside so you can see the two dough nut shaped nuts that screw on the spindle. You will notice there are notches cut on the out side.

Go buy a spindle socket at an auto parts store. If you do not own a half inch drive torque wrench buy one of them too.

if you have a harbor freight near by go there.

You want to remove the outer most nut first, this is a jam not that locks the rear one in place.

Once it is off look in side for a metal tab bent up into one of the notches cut into the second nut,or a flat washer with a bunch of holes in it .If you find a tab ,bend the tab back so you can remove the second nut.

If you find a washer with bunch of holes use two screw drivers to work the washer off, it will have a tab that runs in the grove on the spindle.

At this point you should be able to pull the hub,the outer bearing will fall out ,the inner you need to knock the seal out to get to the bearing.

Putting it all back together you will need to pre load the inner bearing, Torque to like 45 ft. lbs. while spinning the wheel, back it off and re torque again to like 25. ft. lbs. Put in the lock ,the second nut and torque to 45.ft.lbs. This is off the top of my head I'll check and if different will post a second answer.

On another question you ask about the rotors. To replace them the hub needs to be off the truck. Knock out the lugs with a hammer replace the rotor and press the lugs back in.You can all so do this by pulling the studs in with nuts and an impact wrench.

You can get a Chilton's that will cover multi vehicles at a used book store.

Hope this helps
