My aggresive rollerblade wheels won't spin, any ideas what I should do?

I have 'Cult 6' blades realitly new. I got them in about June of 2007 and the wheels stopped spinning about three or four months later. Well, they still spin, but you have to force them and its inpossible to go more than a foot before my feet stop. I live in a very rainy city and I did ride them in the rain quite often. I have no idea how to change bearings if they are rusted. Anyone know how? Or, if 'The Pharmacy' or 'The Office' will change my bearings for free. But, if its not my bearings, any idea what it could be?

THANKS!My aggresive rollerblade wheels won't spin, any ideas what I should do?
Water is the enemy of bearings. Some (like Twin-Cam) are known for being forgiving of moisture and others will rust if you look at water.

Cleaning bearings is a matter of desire and money.

You will need to decide on the tradeoff of time and money. There are places where you can get decent bearings relatively cheap.

However, if you want to actually do it, there are dozens of variations on it.

Here is one: http://www.londonskaters.com/article-spe鈥?/a>

Here is a search link to many discussions of the variations: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q=bea鈥?/a>

Basicaly they are boil down to:

Remove from wheels

Remove one or both shields

Wash using solvent of your choice

Rinse

Dry the bearing

Put one shield back on

Reassemble into wheel

Do not forget to put the spacer between the bearings when reassembling the wheel.

This is a good time to check your wheels for wear and decide if you need to replace them.

The same sites with bearing cleaning information will have information on removing the bearings.

I can't give you more detailed information because it depend on if you have 1,2, or 3 piece axles and if you have 4mm or 6mm axles.

1 piece axles come out in one piece and screw into the frame.

2 piece axles come out as two seperate pieces that screw together.

3 piece axles have two screws that come out of either side and screw into the bearing spacer.

4mm axles are about 1/4'; in diameter

6mm axles are about 3/8'; in diameterMy aggresive rollerblade wheels won't spin, any ideas what I should do?
Your bearings are shot. You didn't take care of them properly. Never get them wet, and if they do get wet then they must be dried either with compressed air or a solvent like denatured alcohol or acetone and re-lubricated with bearing lube. They also periodically need to be cleaned and re-lubed when performance is degraded.

Generally in-line skates use the same bearings as skateboards so there is a wide variety to choose from. Use a bearing press to remove the old bearings from the wheels and insert the new ones. The skate shop you get the new bearings from should have one. just take the wheels and not the whole skates because the skate shop may not have the right size allen wrench for the wheels.
Not even sure what those are, but you might wanna really douche em out with degreaser then spray in a light oil lubricant.
