my husband has been working on cars since he was 5. he has worked on fighter jets and a lot of different stuff. he is a good mech. should he try to tackle the wheel bearings or just take it to a shop? we really dont have the money for the shop and the wheel bearings are just loud but not squealing yet. the car has 120000 miles on it.it has newer tires and rims. the cv boot just started showing grease lately soo we know we got to fix those also. which he has done also just not on a 4wheel drive.How easy is it to change out wheel bearings on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee with 4 wheel drive?
if your husband is capable of doing that then yes. it is very easy and he probably have more experience than me and I'm only 19 and I have done that. good luck and I recommend to you and your husband to purchase a Chilton's repair manual for your jeep you can get it at any auto-part store they are $20. and it help alot.
